| The Armand Bayou Watershed Working
Group (ABWWG), organized by Texas Coastal Watershed Program (Texas
Sea Grant / Texas Cooperative Extension), is an innovative gathering
of federal, state, and private organizations who meet to improve
watershed health, integrate watershed management, and make better
use of watershed project funding. The ABWWG focuses on the interrelated
issues of water quantity (supply), water excess (flooding and drainage),
habitat, and water quality, particularly runoff pollution concerns.
Mission: To protect, preserve and
enhance the ecological integrity of the Armand Bayou watershed while
improving the quality of life in our communities.
Vision:

b. The watershed’s valuable natural resources—its physical
and biological health—are maintained.
c. All who live and/or work in the watershed are aware of the values
of the Bayou to the community and its connection to the ecology
of Clear Lake and Galveston Bay, and understand their role in maintaining
its health.
d. Residents, business interests, and decision-makers make choices,
individually and collectively, that enhance the watershed’s
health and minimize negative impacts.
